"Cultural
heritage from people to a United Europe"

In
the frame of the project "Cultural Heritage from People to
a United Europe", a partnership having the aim to use the
cultural heritage of each people as a tool for a better self-understanding,
to find out the similarities and the differences between different
cultures in the respect of understanding and accepting these differences,
towards a United Europe, we have envolved actively european youngsters,
giving them the opportunity to express their art and culture by
the following contests:

| About
the Contests
We
promoted these contests with the objectives to stimulate the creativity
of youngsters, to know what they have inside, to let them express
by the arts of poetry, painting, music, writing, photograph, what
they feel, their culture, their cultural identity, their values;
and let them travel to know each other, having the opportunity to
communicate, to interact, to share ideas and experiences, to learn
from other cultures, from other cultural heritages, from other situations,
from other worlds.
From the person, from people to a United Europe doing a cultural
exchange by different art's expressions:
this is the aim of the contests promoted and organized by each partner
of this project.
During
the meetings of Castelldefels (april 2008), Targu Jiu
(june 2008), Castelldefels (september 2008) and Treviso
(february 2009) all the beneficiaries - winners of each contest
have got the opportunity to touch by hand all these different cultures,
in the spirit of the present project.

Photo-Reportage
Contest - Romania
At
the middle of April, the photo-reportages contest "Our
Traditions are traveling through Europe" was finished.
The contest was organized by AMV Association, with the purpose
to expose the works and to attract the beneficiaries of the
project to the old tradition. The visual impact is one of
the most important for these young people living in social
centers in Bucharest and this is one of the methods we use
with them.
The contest was open between 1st December 2007 and 15th February
2008 and we received works from all over Romania.
The selection was organized in two phases:
1. Selection made by three independent persons, two photographs
and one amateur. After this selection 7 photo-reportages were
appreciated as finalists.
2. All these 7 works participated to an exhibition during
the meeting of partners in Castelldefels - Spain at the beginning
of April 2008 and were appreciated there also.
Congratulations to the winners of the contest:
I. VALERIU CHIS - first place and a 7 days
trip to Castelldefels-Barcelona in September 2008, for
the photo-reportage "Spring".
II. ANCA BIRIS - second place for the photo-reportage
"Let's know each other".
III. ANDRADA FILIPCIUC - third place for the photo-reportage
"Never ending story".

The finalist works will participate to an exhibition in Bucharest
in October 2008, together with handicraft objects and collages
made by the beneficiaries and to an itinerant exhibition of
the project results organized in all the partner organizations.

Contest -
Romania
On 9th of May 2008 the traditional music contest closed,
but the spiritual door is opened to our, your, their souls
to find the joy of living together."That's"Harmony"
- one beneficiary said. The words of songs bring us joy of
life together, to share it, to give it, to help the others
by love more than pity. This spiritual heritage seems to be
lost but this kind of Grundtvig project show us in fact how
powerful is it for ever. The winners are:

Poetry
Contest - Italy
Eurogems
Association for Social Promotion officially
launched on 1st September 2007 the first contest of poetries
and fictions "Let your culture travel" within
the project "Cultural Heritage from People to a United
Europe", it was closed on 31st december 2007.
· It has been a successfull contest. We received 194
poetries and 48 fictions from all over Italy. After the evalutation
the jury decided the 2 winners. Alessia Barbaro
(pic on the leftside) from Venice won the poetry's contest
with the poetry "Come
iu'". Lucia De Filippo from Rome (central
and right pics) won the fiction's contest with the fiction
"Nell'ombra".
The grand prize of the contest consisted of a 5 days trip
to Barcelona - Spain, from 2 to 6 april 2008, for
the winners, where they got the chance to discover local cultures
and traditions and to meet other beneficiaries of the project
from partner's countries. The winners received the Official
Winning Diploma togheter with some gadgets of the project
(t-shirt, pens, calendars,..). The finalists are going to
receive a diploma and some gadgets of the project within june
2008.

| Poetry
Contest - Spain
Within
the framework of the European project "Cultural Heritage
People for a United Europe",Garnikalia has launched the
First Poetry Contest. It will feature original poems
written in Spanish, Catalan and others.
The originals,
with freedom of subject and form, should have not less than
20 lines and no more than 50.
The poems
submitted must be signed, including in the e-mail personal
information. The deadline was on December 6, 2007. We closed
the contest receiving 70 poems. A very selected jury has done
the evaluation chosing the winner, Lucia Di Salvo
Leon, an argentinian girl living in Oviedo, Spain.
The single
prize consisted of a trip to an European country. This project
aims to intercultural understanding and acceptance of different
ethnic groups in Europe.
